Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Sports Card Maker ("we," "us," "our") lets parents, coaches, and other adults create custom sports trading cards from photos. We take the privacy of families — and especially children — seriously. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions or requests: team@sportscardmaker.com.

1. Who can use Sports Card Maker

Accounts are for adults — parents, legal guardians, and coaches. Before signup (and before our free no-account preview can process a photo) we ask for your year of birth — nothing more — and if it indicates you are under 13, we do not allow you to proceed. By creating an account and uploading a photo, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child shown in it, or that you have that guardian's permission.

2. Information we collect

3. How we handle uploaded photos — we don't keep them

This one matters to us. When you upload a photo to make a card, it is sent to our AI image partner (Google, via the Gemini API) to generate the card artwork. We do not store your original photo on our servers — only the finished, AI-generated card is saved to your account. Because the saved card is new artwork, it does not carry the hidden data (such as GPS location) that phone photos often embed.

4. How we use your information

Strictly to provide the service: to generate, save, and display your cards; to process credits and payments; to operate, secure, and improve the app; and to respond to your messages. We do not use your photos or your children's information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA)

Sports Card Maker is intended for adults creating cards of youth athletes; children are the subjects of cards, not account holders. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The adult account holder is responsible for the content they upload and for having the right to do so. A parent or guardian may review or request deletion of any information associated with their family at any time by emailing team@sportscardmaker.com.

6. Analytics

We use privacy-first, aggregate analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use session recording, heatmaps, or cross-site behavioral tracking, and we do not send your email or name to our analytics provider.

7. How information is shared

We do not sell or rent your information, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share information only with the service providers that operate the platform, and only as needed to run it:

Cards you choose to share: if you share a card or collage — by link, by gifting it, by submitting it to a team, by ordering physical prints (whose QR code links to the card's page), or by posting it to social media — people with that link or on those platforms can view it. A shared card includes the card artwork and the back-of-card details you added (player name, number, team, stats, and story). You can un-share a card at any time from your gallery. Content shared outside Sports Card Maker leaves our control and may not be retrievable. Please share only what you're comfortable making visible.

8. Data retention & deletion

We keep your saved cards and account information until you delete them or close your account. You can delete an individual card at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data — including cards you've contributed to a team — email team@sportscardmaker.com and we will remove it from our systems. Content already shared externally (for example, to social media) is outside our control.

9. Security

We rely on established providers (Google Firebase, Stripe) and access controls so your cards and account are accessible only to you and the team members you choose. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's information.

10. Your choices & rights

You may access, correct, or delete your information — and request deletion of information about your child — by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR; we honor verified requests.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date.
